MVNS Meetings and Events...

... The club brings its N-Trak modules to several regional train shows each year, including our own show at the Kirkwood Community Center on the second weekend of October. In past years, we have been in Arcola and Tuscola, Illinois, Springfield, Illinois, and Collinsville, Illinois. We have been to Louisville, Kentucky twice to join with other clubs from several states in a large layhout. The culmination was the 701 module layout held there in 2008 for the National N Scale Convention. We participated in the Columbus, Ohio N Scale Weekend. We participated in the Worlds Greatest Hobby On Tour show twice in downtown St. Louis and once in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Several of our members have nice home layouts, and the club visits them regularly to work on them and run trains. Chris Zygmont is building a state of the art digitally controlled layout in south St. Louis county. Jerry Prott has an N scale empire at his home in Edwardsville, Illinois. Fred Houska has a finished and highly detailed layout in Maryland Heights, Missouri. Both Jerry and Fred were published in N Scale Magazine. Ali Shahriary built a basement layout completely out of Kato Unitrack. Glenn Koproske has an N-Trak module/small layout rehab facility in Fenton, Missouri.

You can see all these exciting layouts in the Photo Gallery at this website. Contact the club for driving directions.

We have trips to interesting railroad related facilities as well. We recently visited the Illinois Transit Assembly Corp. passenger car rebuilding facility. We took tours of Micro-Engineering and American Model Builders. These are model railroad manufacturing facilities in the St. Louis Metro area. We also get together informally and go on the Gateway Division of the NMRA layout tours.
